This was a summer staple for me growing up. When I asked my mom for the recipe she just gave me a funny look and said, "It's 5 cup salad, just remember what was in it and it's a cup of each." Okay, I felt more than a little bit stupid then. 5 cups, 5 ingredients. So easy.
Here's the 5 ingredients, use a cup of each.
-mini marshmallows
-coconut
-mandarin oranges
-sour cream
-pineapple tidbits
Mix everything together. I find it tastes best if you make it ahead of time (the morning of or the day before you serve it)
That's easy to remember! Looks so refreshing for the summer! Yummy!
ReplyDeleteTalk about easy! AND sounds good. I bet the sour cream in it really makes the salad. I'm gonna remember this one! :)

That's what MY mother said. They must be in cahoots. Is she from Texas? I have that on my list to make; it's one of my favorite fruit salads.

ReplyDeleteThis salad used to be very popular at bridal showers and such a good while back. I haven't had it in years. Good to see it remembered and posted because I never knew what was in it.
ReplyDeleteIt will help if you drain the fruits before you combine the ingredients.
